We recommend: Hans Rosling — ‘The best stats you’ve ever seen’
On the 7th of February, it will be 7 years since we’ve lost the great Hans Rosling. We wanted to remind everyone the brilliance of this wonderful scholar.
Our Thoughts
Hans Rosling revolutionized how we perceive the world. We admire how he challenges cultural and societal stereotypes by using data, which he brilliantly visualizes through the Gapminder platform.
Inspired by many of his ideas, we’ve adopted a similar approach to engineering management. We strive to measure as much as possible, embrace the mindset of a scientist, and apply the scientific method to our daily practices.
Call to Action
What do you measure in your own craft? Do you know how many hours a week you spend in meetings? What is the longest uninterrupted block of time you have for focused work? How many documents have you created, and how many people have read them? How has a recent change to your way of working impacted your productivity?
As challenging as it may seem, without data, we’re limited to the accuracy of our perceptions.
